Mile End - Mile End has been my home for the past 3 years. It is a small, mostly residential district in the heart of East London, within walking distance of both the Olympic Park and the City of London. In many ways it doesn’t have a lot going for it - it’s not very pretty, there isn’t a lot to do, and there are places to avoid at night. But it’s home. In this collection I aimed to blend my love of London’s cultural richness, in particular it’s creative fashion culture, with the city’s grey urban backdrop. Muted colours bring out the shapes and textures in these patterns, and I do hope you’ll enjoy knitting them. Available for £6.00
Ropery -A pullover with a bit of a difference! Using a combination of bias knitting, short rows and quick and easy cast-ons, a deep cowl front is created. This pattern is worked entirely in stockinette and reverse stockinette, to focus attention on the striking and unusual silhouette, and is much easier to execute than you may expect. Part of the Mile End mini-collection of East London inspired designs. Available for £4.50
Bright colours and semi-solid, fingering weight yarn make this a striking yet delicate look perfect for summer. Available for £6.00
Weekend - Weekend is a medium sized throw or blanket that really can be made in just one weekend! Using just 4 skeins of Colinette Caligraphy, this knit is fantastic for product knitters and last minute gifts alike. The centre panel of knotted openwork emphasizes the slubby texture of this yarn, and the varigated yarn is able to create an attractive spotted effect. Available for £2.50
Roots - Roots is a new twist on a classic ribbed hat design. Knit from the top down, this pattern allows easy customisation for length as the hat can be tried on throughout the knit. The use of worsted weight yarn knit at a slightly tighter gauge results in a warm, water resistant fabric, perfect for winter wear, and increases the elasticity of the rib for a snug, warm fit. This hat is a great knit for men, being both well fitting, simple and traditional in style, but the branching rib provides an element of individuality and makes for a fun and interesting knit. Available for £2.50.
